Christina Ricci is seen here looking cute as ever on the set of her latest movie, Born to be a Star. And if you are wondering why she is looking a little forlorn and lost, it is because she has just recently broken an engagement with her long time fiancé comedian Owen Benjamin. And by recently, we mean, over the past weekend. Poor Christina, she just looks so sad you just wanna reach over and give her a huge hug. But looking at her you almost envy her, because how many of us can look THAT great and still show up at work when our hearts are clearly broken.
Christina here is playing with her now empty engagement ring finger as she works on set and as it looks is contemplating the love of her life. But even on set Christina has her hair pulled into a cute and quirky little ponytail which she offsets with an equally cute little summer dress. Once again we see how the right outfit can make even the most casual of hairstyles look cute as a button. This just goes to show that yes, you can get away with second day hair without drawing too much attention to yourself, even when you are on set and in front of zillions of cameras.
If you pull off the right look like Christina has here and choose simple pieces that are casual, but with one or two standing out amongst the others, you can get away with the ponytail. Working with second day hair can be just a little tricky as you may be dealing with some grease factor, so you want to run just a smidge of baby powder through your comb before you sleek the hair back. Doing just that will ensure that if you are getting looks from the crowd, they are the kind of looks you want.
Part your hair on the side with a fine tooth comb, and then comb back the side sections of your hair into a high and tight ponytail. Be sure to use cloth covered elastics to minimize and prevent hair breakage. You can then sweep your bangs to the side like Christina has here, or you can simply curl or flatiron them under for a sweet fringed look in the front. For just a hint of extra glam, you can spritz on some glossing serum, but only enough for a little extra shine, not too much or you will enhance that second day hair look.
