Here is the always posh Posh Spice, launching the Victoria Beckham dVb (Denim by Victoria) collection at Harrods in London yesterday. Yes, Victoria has a stellar team of stylists, and the credit line to go with it, to ensure she looks nothing less than spectacular at all times. And here Victoria is proving that yes, you can even do an updo with short hair.
This one surprised even me, as I would not have even pegged Posh to be an updo kind of girl, but here she is stepping out of the box yet again. Because she has a distinct cut that is short in the back and long in the front, Victoria can use her long layers in the front to create this updo. To get this look on super short hair, unwashed hair is best as you will have more control over telling it what to do. Product is key as well, you will need some thickening pomade to give your hair even a little more bend, and you will be finishing the look with extra hold spray gel.
First, run the pomade through your hair, and don’t be shy but use your best judgment. You don’t want to get to greasy either. Comb back the front and spritz some spray gel on for hold, and follow this up with a backcomb to your bangs or front sections. Here is where you will get your lift. Slick back the sides and use spray gel to hold and bring all of the pieces together at the back of your head. Use bobby pins to secure a small knot, or to tie up your stray pieces, or you could even use a flat hair piece to cover your loose ends at the back.
