Here is the always beautiful Eva Longoria Parker at the opening of the 2008 Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France. Eva is wearing a simple cocktail dress in this spring’s aqua jewel tones and she has gone simple, almost hippy-esque with her hair styling as well.
Eva has maintained her natural wave and has brought some pieces back to showcase her beautiful facial features. With this look, you want to go with unwashed hair as well to maintain any wave you create in it. The night before, dampen your hair and wrap it in a loose bun, and spray to hold. Sleep on your hair, and when you are ready to style it, take your bun out the next day. The longer you keep your bun in, the more hold your waves will be, so if you can go until later in the day, your style will be rewarded.
When you are ready, take the bun out and let your waves fall naturally. Finger comb them through, and run just a smidge of pomade through for some extra hold. Make a side part, and take one piece each from the side and pull towards the back of your head, remembering not to pull upwards. You want this contemporary hippy look, so don’t pull high, and don’t pull tight. You can fasten the hair at the back with a pretty clip, or some pins, however you choose. If you aren’t 100% happy with your waves, use a wide inched curling iron to amp them up and hold them in place. Voila, you have a very easy and very natural formal look with little effort.
