Here is Carrie Underwood shining in all her down-home country glory at the 43rd Academy of Country Music Awards. This is one girl that just gets prettier every day, doesn’t she? Carrie has left her beautifully natural blonde locks down for this red carpet event, and went with bold volume and sleek shine.

Part of the magic of this look is the fabulous face framing cut that Carrie has to work with. If you like this look, ask your stylist for chunky layers around your face and long skimming bangs so that you can get the volume that Carrie has here. This look starts off with washed hair, that is towel dried and then smoothed over with a thickening pomade. Blow-dry hair from roots to tip, using a round brush to dry your ends under as you blow dry. Use the largest sized Velcro rollers that you have to roll your entire head in wide, thick sections, this is where you will get your volume. Blow-dry the rollers to give them some heat that will set the volume. Let them set for about 15-30 minutes. After you’ve taken out the rollers, part your hair on the side, and tease the back of your crown just a smidge to give you some overall spray. Finger comb your hair, and brush it sleek but soft with a flat brush to give you some shine.
