Depps New Project? We Can Only Hope.
In movie news, on the front of what’s hot and what’s going to be, we see our favorite Pirate, Johnny Depp, looking at some new projects for his post Pirates of the Caribbean career.
Long time being a top Hollywood earner, coming up a long way since his 21 Jumpstreet Days, Depp is incredibly sought after giving the fact he’s a veritable recluse. It took multi millions and three picture deal and a script that was interesting and different enough to warrant his attention. Due to his reclusive nature it was rumored that Depp would be taking a short sabbatical, but according to his bodyguard he’s been reading various scripts and looking for another “Ed Wood” or “Edward Scissorhands”.
Not wanting to do the commercial route for some time all the talented Depp has been reading screenplays by unsigned, independent talent whom are first timers.
Obviously Johnny wants to help out the young crop of writers and filmmakers.
There is one script specifically that has caught his eye. A little number currently dubbed “Fade Out”; penned by first time screenwriters Sandy Daley and co-writer extraordinaire Michael Johnson.
The film is written about an imaginary child star by the name of Chris Carlson. The story takes its Johnny Depp turn by having the child star, while acting very star-like, fall and hit his head causing the child to go blind. During the course of the story the teenager fights the fear of being blind by recreating his sighted life in his waking dreams. The characters featured in this story all have one disability or another from blindness and albinism to paraplegia.
Depp has long enjoyed working on films that have interesting twists and nuances. This is evident in his films | | | Photo Source: PRPhotos.com |
