Elle MacPherson Pumps Up the Volume

There is no mystery as to why this girl is one of the most sought after supermodels, and if this is what she looks like when she is on mommy duty, then she has every reason to be envied. Elle MacPherson was spotted here the other day in London after having dropped her boys off at school for the day. And yet even though she is in the thick of carpool and school yard drama, you’d never guess because still she manages to look like she just walked off the pages of Vogue.
How does she do it? Well you can’t blame the stylist and makeup artist for this one, as the every school morning look is not one that you can manage a bevy of stylists for. But Elle has obviously picked up a few tricks of the trade when it comes to looking fabulous whenever possible. And this look is not actually that easy to get, particularly for the mom on the go.
To get this look, you want to maximize volume and so you will start off with some volumizing shampoo and conditioner. Use volumizing mousse from roots to tips on towel dried hair, and blow dry your hair with a round bristle brush. Pay some extra attention to those roots, as you can really amp up the height and volume by doing so.
When you are finished your blowout, you can set your hair in large sized Velcro rollers and this will add just a bit more volume and a very slight bend to your hair. Spritz each section of your hair with some hairspray as you roll, and this will lock in the volume. Let the rollers set for about 30 minutes and blast the blow dryer on them before you take them out. This heat again will lock in some very pretty volume for you.
After you take your rollers out, use a soft brush to slowly smooth out the waves and volume you just created. Don’t worry, you aren’t going to be sacrificing any volume here, but you will finish with a sexy, wavy look like Elle has here.
