Top 4 Ways to Conquer Menswear This Fall

One thing we love about fashion is that sometimes trends stay, and sometimes trends go, but it always seems that the truly sexy trends keep coming back. And the on again trend of menswear is no exception. And why not? Menswear is easily a beautiful and unique way to stand out amongst a crowd of minis and frocks, isn’t it? And you know full well how it has some serious sex appeal as well. This is not a new look by any stretch. Katherine Hepburn defined this look way back when, and Diane Keaton sharpened it up in ‘Annie Hall’. But this year, designers are taking some vintage looks and making them oh-so contemporary, AND beautiful. Look for tuxedo trousers, tailored blazers, and sharp vests. Runways such as Dior and Givenchy were smattered with this look, and celebrities have taken it to the red carpet by storm. How can you pull it off? A few tricks and staples is all you need.
1. The classic black blazer. This is a must have for every menswear wannabe fashionista. Make this one an investment piece, and get one that is uber tailored. This will take you from day to night in a snap. Kate Moss has embodied the menswear trend for women in her Top Shop line that always offers a heap of sex appeal to today’s modern menswearing woman. Make it sexy with a pretty little cami underneath as well.
2. The classic black skinny/vest pairing. A pair of black skinny jeans is any wardrobe staple, and all you need to add a menswear touch to this is a sexy vest. The sex appeal here clearly lies in the lack of top underneath the vest, do with this as you will, a tailored shirt would look very nice here for a structured look, or a sexy camisole underneath does the work as well.
3. Wide legged trousers. Dior loves menswear and we saw the runway this spring season with wide legged trousers paired with a series of striped vests. Again, we think of WHAM when we think of vests, but if Dior says it works, then it works. Wide legged trousers gives you a more dressy look with your menswear, and this will look uber chic and sexy at the martini bar after work.
4. Leggings. You don’t want to pare the look down too much when it comes to streamlining the silhouette. If you pare down on top with a vest, go big on the bottom with wide legged pants or jeans. If you want to streamline your bottom, you can do this with sexy lace trimmed leggings, and an oversized vest or blazer.
The menswear look is one that is going to last. And this look is not simply limited to celebs and models however, it is quite probably the most wearable trend of the year. Step out of the frocks for a moment and give it a whirl, you’ll love it!
