5 New Fashion Ideas That Leave Us In Tears

The new fall fashion season is upon us and there are a few hip threads out there that should have been left on the cutting board. Just because fashion hits the runways does not mean it should hit the shelves of the stores. The five most frightening fashion choices for this fall are see through, leopard, patterned and more.
1. The See Through Pant / Legging
We understand that the 1980s fashion revival is something that no one will let die, but these pants (maybe better suited for leggings as they are skin tight) use mesh latex to allow the skin to show through the fabric. Other versions utilize huge holes to make the fabric appear shredded to near trash material.
2. The Furry Hat
On just about every runway we saw large, furry hats accessorizing the models' heads. These hats look better suited for the front of a new Dr. Seuss movie than a runway. We can only hope the mega retail giants choose not to jump into this one.
3. The 1980s Squared Shoulder
Looking back at the 1980s, every woman owned a suit jacket, or 20, that made them look more like a football player than a professional woman. This fall, these boxy jackets complete with shoulder pads are being reborn. We would love to say this time around they are flattering, but that would be a lie.
4. The Furs and Animal Prints, Oh My!
Furs (faux, of course) and animal prints are also a huge choice this year. As long as the ensembles are not created with the skin tight leopard pants seen on some runways (see the "see through pant" above) there could be a great look waiting to be born.
5. The Belt That Holds Up Nothing
Remember those sweater dresses from years ago that donned a huge belt around the mid section? These dresses and the belts that served no purpose are coming back this fall. Just like ties, you can find these fashion belts in every shape, size and color, but that does not make them fashionable in the least.
The 1980s was not an era in fashion to be revered, but some designers evidently will not leave that decade alone. The only solace that can be found in a resurgence of 1980s fashion is the fact that soon the 1990s and 2000s will be replayed and that has to be a step in the right direction.
