5 Diet Tips You Might Never Have Thought Of
Back To Articles
The most common New Year’s Resolution is to lose more weight. This time, it is all about losing weight the right way and not taking off the pounds in unhealthy ways that hurt us more than help us. Here are 5 dieting tips that you probably never heard.
5) Weigh yourself every day. That’s right ladies, pondering over whether or not you lost weight for 7 days in a row will cause stress. If you are stressed out, the body tends to fall into the fight or flight syndrome and it tells the brain that it is hungry. The longer you wait to weigh yourself, the more stressed and eventually the will power causes you to step off the wagon and that is simply not how to lose weight. Weighing yourself everyday does not mean you are obsessed, especially if you understand that the body can gain and lose 5 pounds in one day thanks to water weight.
4) Yo Yo Dieting is OK. This tip is one I know you have never heard. But, take it from the bodies point of view, losing weight is good, gaining weight is bad. If a person were to stop trying to lose weight just because they gained after the last diet no one would ever lose the weight. While losing and then maintaining is the best choice, that does not mean it is okay to live at a higher than healthy weight just because you gained it back this year.
3) Tell everyone about your diet. The more people you tell about your journey with weight loss, the more people you will let down if you fail. No one wants to fail, so tell the world; post it on YouTube even.
2) Take the weekends off. Again this tip falls back to the stress level. As you diet and you lose weight, the mind and the body will eventually get tired of watching every calorie and marking down every bit of food and drink that goes into the body. But, that does not meant you cannot take a mini vacation once a week. On the weekends, eat until you are full but do not keep track of anything. On Monday, go right back to the strict routine you have been following and you will feel better for the bit of time off.
1) Drink caffeine and lots of it. Okay, maybe not too much. The caffeine you consume in a drink is the same as the caffeine that is included in diet pills, the only difference is you can control the source of the caffeine. Green tea has been scientifically shown to improve weight loss efforts and caffeine has been scientifically shown to increase metabolism, so why not combine them together. Hot green tea in the morning in place of that cup of coffee will also help reduce the amount of calories you consume during the day unless you drink you coffee black and that must hurt!

| This is good advice. I used to be well over weight, but once I learned how to control my stress, and stop caring if I gained a little or lost...I dropped nearly 10 pounds...wearing a comfortable size 9 now, even 8s in some outfits... | |

| Actually, this is great advise. Most people will stop losing weight once a diet has begun working due to little variation in their eating pattern. Weekends off, within reason, will provide a shcok to your system, and actually give another "jump start" to your diet. Only people with no control would be unable to handle "weekends off". Diet pills are no good & the caffeine does help. Support & less stress also sound like good ideas to me! | |
